Why Gioca
Why South Amboy families start their child at Gioca.
For a lot of South Amboy families, Gioca is a first real soccer academy experience. Their child has enjoyed the game at school or in a town program and is ready for coaching that builds proper foundations: first touch, balance, awareness and the confidence to try things. Our youngest groups, from U7, are designed for exactly that stage.
South River is about 15 minutes from South Amboy along Route 35 and Main Street, and our evenings at Dailey’s Pond Recreation Area run from 5:30 PM for younger teams. Sessions are short enough for a seven-year-old to stay engaged and structured enough that parents can see progress within weeks.
As players grow, the pathway grows with them: birth-year teams up to U18 competing in EDP and NJYS-certified leagues, plus a Summer Training Academy for ages 5 to 13. Every step is coached by the same small team, so nothing is lost between age groups.

Every new player trains once with us at no cost, so you can judge the coaching before you commit.
